Here is a project we are so excited to be a part of! We were contacted by a designer in Illinois who is working with a couple designing a new his & hers valet closet and master bathroom. The couple had selected our Victorian Jewel knobs and pulls in Solid Bronze. He selected the Onyx stone inlays, but she was looking for something with more pizzazz. After shopping around a bit she was able to find the beautiful Swarovski crystal inlays, shown below. We were happy to incorporate the stunning crystals into our hardware design to give her valet closet the extra sparkle she was looking for! We can’t wait to see them installed!

The home is a personal expression of the people living in it, and every design element adds to the overall ambiance.  Notting Hill Decorative Hardware is offering several new additions at KBIS 2015 to reflect personal style in a unique and artistic manner.

The Kitchen ID Collection has expanded with 18 new offerings to the existing collection. Clients can organize their kitchen or pantry in style, with labeled hardware such as BOWLS, SPICES, WINE GLASSES, POTS & PANS and more.  The horizontal pulls are custom-engraveable. The line is ideal for walk-in closets, children’s rooms or even vacation homes. Available in Antique Pewter only, the pulls measure 4” x 7/8” with stems 3” center to center.

The Horse Chestnut Collection is a fine example of an Arts & Crafts motif, artistically portrayed in a knob, pull and wood knob. Chestnut leaves and seed pods frame an open center circle which allows the beauty of a wood cabinet to shine through. There is a matching 1-½” diameter knob and a wood knob available. Finish choices are Antique Brass, Antique Copper, Antique Pewter, Dark Brass and Brilliant Pewter. Pulls measure 5” x 1-7/8” with stems 3” center to center.

The graceful Ginkgo Leaf Pull is a welcome addition to match Notting Hill’s Ginkgo Leaf knob. A symbol of hope & peace, the Ginkgo leaf is widely popular in Asian, Arts & Crafts, Prairie and Art Nouveau styles. Finish choices are Antique Brass, Antique Pewter and Brite Nickel. Three overlapping leaves form a pull measuring 4 -½” x 1 -½” with stems 3” center to center.

Holiday Hardware Gift Guide

Hardware is the perfect size for a stocking stuffer, and can be the perfect gift to freshen up the look of a vanity or special furniture piece. Aside from being beautiful on its own, decorative hardware can be used in Do-It-Yourself projects that make great gifts! Here are some ideas from one of our previous blogs:

Here are some unique ways we have found to use Decorative Hardware! We hope you enjoy them. If you are inspired to do any of these projects, we would love to hear how it went! Let us know in the comment section.

1. Knob Jewelry Holder –

Here is an inexpensive and practical gift idea – use decorative knobs to create a jewelry holder. It is simple to create, easy to personalize, and displays your jewelry beautifully.  You can even use smaller knobs and place it near the door for a key holder. Save money on this project by using mismatched hardware. Find some inexpensive and beautiful mismatched knobs from Notting Hill Hardware for any DIY project here at our shop on Etsy. You could also use a canvas, photo frame, or even driftwood for a shore themed space to mount the knobs. Here are some of our own creations:

2. Hold Your Hair Straightener –

Attach a pull to a wall or inside of a bathroom vanity cabinet to hang your hair straightener. This will allow it to cool off in a safe place, and out of the way.  You can also wrap the cord around the pull to keep it organized and avoid tangles. Here is an example we found on Pinterest. (While you’re there, Follow Notting Hill!)

3. Labeling –

Get organized! Notting Hill’s Kitchen ID Collection has many different labels to choose from so that anyone can find their way around your kitchen with ease. If we don’t have the label you need, you can order a custom horizontal pull with whatever suits you! Be creative! Here are some examples of what we have had in the past:

We also offer the Initial series to personalize your home, or a children’s room or nursery.

4. Pulls Accessory Holder –

Use upside-down bin pulls to hold rings and hang earrings along the edge. Pulls can also be used to hold sunglasses, scarves or purses in an organized, easy to use way. Here is an example we found on Pinterest. (While you’re there, Follow Notting Hill!)

5. Window Treatments –

Use decorative knobs instead of a curtain rod and rings or hooks to hold up your window treatments. This extra detail brings an added element to the room. Here is an example from Better Homes & Gardens.

6. Decorative Jar Lids –

Utilize an old pickle jar or the classic Mason jar as decorative kitchen or bathroom storage! Remove the label, spray paint the lid, and attach a decorative knob to the top. Simple and versatile. Fill with candies for the kitchen or cotton balls for the bathroom. Here is a great tutorial with step by step instructions for this project.
